We are aware that there may still be some hesitation with regards to international travel and attendance of events. The health and safety of our delegates, sponsors, speakers and staff is of the upmost importance. We are closely monitoring the latest government guidance and will continue to update you if things change. We look forward to welcoming you to Scotland!

We are delighted that the UK is now one of the most open countries in Europe, with no testing required for fully vaccinated tourists. Read more here!

We will continue to follow the latest government guidance with respect to conferences.

We would like to confirm that plans for Inter-noise 2022 to be delivered in person at the Scottish Event Campus (SEC) in Glasgow are well underway.

The health and safety of our delegates, sponsors, speakers and staff is our top priority and we will follow all current government guidance and assure you that all necessary precautions will be in place to ensure your safety.

Travelling to Scotland from outside the UK

Inter-noise 2022 is a truly international event and we look forward to welcoming colleagues and friends to join us here in Scotland. However, if you are planning to join us from outside the UK please ensure that you have checked the latest government guidance before travelling.

Do I need a visa to travel to Scotland?

From 1 October 2021, all EU, EEA and Swiss nationals (except Irish citizens) will need a valid passport to enter the UK. Your travel document should not expire during your stay in the UK. At the border, officials might ask for proof that you are visiting the UK for tourism, such as a hotel reservation.

Other foreign nationals might need to apply for a Standard Visitor visa.

You can check if you need a UK visa by clicking here.

What to do if you develop symptoms of Covid-19

If you develop symptoms of Covid-19 you are asked not to travel to the venue. You should follow current NHS guidelines on what to do whilst in the UK.

As per our registration terms and conditions, it will be possible to transfer your registration to a virtual registration free of charge.

Lateral Flow Test

To try and minimise the risk of Covid-19 where possible, we recommend that you take a lateral flow test within 48 hours of attending Inter-noise 2022. If you test positive please DO NOT travel to the venue.

For more information on lateral flow tests and how to order them please click here.

Face Coverings

By law, everyone age 12 and over must wear a face covering in most indoor public places in Scotland. All attendees will be required to wear a face covering unless exempt or whilst eating or drinking.

Hygiene around the venue

We are working closely with the venue to ensure a clean and safe environment for you to enjoy the event. The SEC have implemented a number of protocols to ensure hygiene.

  • Ventilation has been increased, improving fresh air circulation by changing our air handling units to draw in fresh air, as opposed to recirculating air.
  • Enhanced all cleaning throughout the venue before, during and after your visit. With a focus on high touch point areas.
  • SEC venues operate a cashless system. They only accept contactless or card payments at our box office, food & drink outlets, merchandise sales points and cloakroom.
  • Supporting the Check in Scotland service and ask you to scan the QR codes on display at all entry points.

For more information on what to expect onsite please refer to the SEC’s website.
